Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. The youngest of five siblings. She has two brothers and sisters younger. The Miley's parents chose her in hopes that she would succeed. Miley was shortened from Smiley as a young girl and was rewarded for being cheerful. Ron Cyrus is her Democratic politician father. Cyrus began her education in Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. At the age of eight, Cyrus and her family moved into Toronto in Canada which is where Billy Ray, Cyrus's father was a star in the show Doc (2001) in TV. Around this time, Cyrus also decided to take on the role of an actor. Her first role came alongside her father in Doc (2001). In addition, Cyrus played part in Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003). Cyrus performed the role of Hannah Montana on Hannah Montana (2007), a Disney television series that follows the life of a girl who has a double existence as the world's most famous. Her father also appeared alongside her. The show went down a storm and hit records, sell-out tours and merchandise deals were followed. Cyrus became a teen superstar. Cyrus began taking on various roles in the wake of her success with Hannah Montana (2006). These included playing Ronnie Miller (in The Last Song in 2010) as well as Lola (in LOL (2012)), alongside Demi Moor.
